Dissociative Identity Disorder

About US

Hello and welcome to D.I.D i do that?

My name is Cassine and I have Dissociative Identity Disorder, also known as DID and previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder. I also have Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or C-PTSD. These disorders are a result of severe and prolonged childhood abuse.

In Summary Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is described as a disruption of identity characterized by two or more distinct personality states or an experience of possession. Personally, I have around 39 alternate personalities or 'alters' (which is what I refer to them as throughout my blogs), that I am aware of. You will get to know them by their names if you follow along.

After always feeling like I was different to others in some way, dealing with amnesia amongst other symptoms, I was first diagnosed with these disorders around 2013 after an acute mental health episode, resulting in an extended hospital admission.

After spending majority of my adult life engaging and disengaging in countless therapies & programs, numerous hospital admissions and exhausting what feels like every coping strategy known to mankind, I finally met my current therapist whom I like to call "My Wizard."

I have been seeing my wizard for just over 1 year now and he has taught me more about DID than I could have ever imagined and as a result, I can now proudly say - I am a survivor.

The most important and powerful thing my wizard has taught me is 'The truth will set you free', Which brings me to the reason I have created this page.

To me, this page is much more than poems & blogs - It is our freedom and has already allowed us, in just a short amount of time, to feel more free than we have ever felt and is an important part of my long term recovery and journey to a better life where I will live free from trauma and help other survivors with DID.

I would love for each one of you to come along with me on my trauma and dissociation journey where I hope to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind and what it's like to live with complex trauma and dissociation.

You can subscribe to my blogs below to get notified when I drop a new post or send me a message through the contact form if you would like to share with me your story or give me some feedback.

While I have my alters supporting me internally, it is also important to me to acknowledge in here that I am blessed with my external supports as well. I have a very supportive and everything special to me husband and three amazing, thriving children. Without their unconditional, empathetic, genuine and attentive support and nurturing I would not be here today.
